Sync Search Offset (802.16 OFDMA)

Sync Search Offset manually specifies the uplink synchronization data region.

Selected (manual mode): the uplink sync search data region is specified in the text box.
Cleared (auto mode): the uplink sync search data region is determined automatically.

The start of the data region (or window) is specified for uplink synchronization (in symbols) relative to the pulse search (when Pulse Search is selected) or trigger (when Pulse Search is cleared). The uplink sync search algorithm operates over a one-symbol search window starting at Sync Search Offset, relative to the pulse search (when Pulse Search is selected), or trigger location (when Pulse Search is cleared).

Manual mode

Using the manual mode (Sync Search Offsetselected) to specify an uplink synchronization data region also depends on the Pulse Search setting. The Pulse Search parameter effects the operation of the manual mode as described below:

Pulse Search-selected (ON)

When Pulse Searchis selected, the VSA assumes the signals RF Radio Frequency: A generic term for radio-based technologies, operating between the Low Frequency range (30k Hz) and the Extra High Frequency range (300 GHz). envelope is coincident with "active" bursts in the zone definition. Sync Search Offset allows skipping from the start of the RF envelope to the first active slot.
Pulse Search cleared (OFF)

When Pulse Searchis cleared, the VSA assumes that the trigger is aligned with the start of the zone. Sync Search Offset allows skipping from trigger to the actual start of the zone.
