Search Length (GSM/EDGE/EDGE Evolution)

Default: up to 17 slots, depending on hardware or recording length

Range: 2 - 17 slots

Search Length defines the length of the time capture after the measurement is triggered. This time data is displayed in the Search Time trace.

The demodulator captures slightly more time data than is specified in Search Length. This is used to compensate for internal filtering. The actual time capture data can be viewed in the Raw Main Time trace.

Result Length for Pre-Demodulated Time Data

The Result Length for pre-demodulated data (such as the Time, Spectrum, and Inst Spectrum trace data) is 20% larger than the Result Length for demodulated data so that the pre-demodulation traces include the transition regions before and after the demodulated data. This can be used to verify the expected RF Radio Frequency: A generic term for radio-based technologies, operating between the Low Frequency range (30k Hz) and the Extra High Frequency range (300 GHz). envelope of a pulsed signal in the time domain.
