Pk EVM (GSM/EDGE/EDGE Evolution)

Pk EVM Error vector magnitude (EVM): A quality metric in digital communication systems. See the EVM metric in the Error Summary Table topic in each demodulator for more information on how EVM is calculated for that modulation format. displays the peak symbol EVM for the burst in the current timeslot. For a single measurement, the Pk EVM metric shows the same value as the peak EVM measurement but the Pk EVM metric can be averaged over multiple measurements using RMS averaging, whereas the peak EVM measurement cannot be RMS averaged.

The EDGE Enhanced Data for Global Evolution: A technology that gives GSMA and TDMA similar capacity to handle services for the third generation of mobile telephony. EDGE was developed to enable the transmission of large amounts of data at a high speed, 384 kilobits per second. (It increases available time slots and data rates over existing wireless networks.) standard has a requirement that the peak EVM averaged over 200 measurements be less than certain value. The Pk EVM summary table data result allows you to perform this measurement.
