Trace Tab (Display Preferences)

The Trace tab on the Display Preferences menu turns on and off the display grids, annotation, and to choose to display all frequency points. The default setting is checked for grids and annotation and cleared for display all frequency points.

Trace Decoration

Show Grid Lines: When Show Grid Lines is cleared, the grid lines in the trace windows are removed.
Show Annotation: When Show Annotation is cleared, all the trace annotation is removed and the trace grid expands accordingly.

Trace Layout

Minimum Trace Count: specifies the minimum number of trace windows that exist after a Preset Setup or Preset Traces.

When the current set of traces contains fewer trace windows than the Minimum Trace Count, the remaining traces will not be visible but will be present in the list of traces, which is shown at the top of the tabs in the Trace dialog box (Trace > Format, for example).
Remove Extra Traces on Preset or Layout: When selected, the VSA removes any traces that are no longer visible after a Preset Setup or Preset Traces, down to the minimum number specified by Minimum Trace Count.
Tile Visible Traces after Preset Setup: When selected, the VSA performs a Tile Visible operation after you perform a Preset Setup.
Preset Traces after changing Channel Configuration: When selected, a Preset Traces is performed when you select a different input channel configuration.
Create separate window per measurement: When selected, the VSA places the default traces for a newly created measurement into a new Trace Window. Otherwise, the VSA places the new measurement's traces into the current window.

Miscellaneous

Show All Frequency Points: When Show All Frequency Points is cleared, only alias-protected data is shown. When Show All Frequency Points is selected, all data including aliased frequency points is shown. This also includes data that extends beyond the measurement hardware’s minimum or maximum frequency range. The data that is shown may not be valid, so use caution when using this setting.

Show Power Spectrum emphasizing noise floor: Enabling this parameter will "sample and hold" (show point value for duration of bin) for each point instead of the default linear interpolation between points.
Prefer dBm when Auto Y Unit: Controls whether dBm deciBels referenced to a milliWatt: dB relative to 1 milliwatt dissipated in the nominal input impedance of the analyzer is the preferred YUnit when YUnit is set to Auto. This preference setting affects the Time traces (Raw Main Time, Main Time, Search Time, etc.) when shown in LogMag trace format. These traces were previously in dBVpk by default. This preference does not affect Spectrum traces as dBm is already the default unit.
