Padding Selection and Padding Mode
Padding Selection and Padding Mode provide a means of adding padding data to the recorded signal.
Padding Selection - selects the type of padding to add to the recorded signal.
- No Action: (default) No padding is added to the recorded data during playback.
- Zero Padding: Zero ("0") data is added as a prefix and postfix to the recorded data based on the Padding Mode value.
- Cyclic Padding: Cyclic data is added as a prefix and postfix to the recording's data based on the Padding Mode value.
- Repetition: The recorded data pattern is repeated by a multiplier specified in the Padding Mode's Factor value.
Padding Mode - specifies the mode of padding and the amount of padding data to be added to the recorded signal.
- Factor (Zero Padding, Cyclic Padding and Repetition only) - (default) Padding is added using a factor of the recorded signal's length.
- Zero Padding: Zero ("0")data is added as a prefix and postfix to the recorded data based on the value entered in the Factor field.
Example
A Factor of 0.2 adds 20% of the original data length to both the front and back ends of the recording's data as "0" data.
Original data:[1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10]
Result data: [0,0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,0,0]
- Cyclic Padding: Cyclic data is added as a prefix and postfix to the recording's data based on the value entered in the Factor field.
Example
A Factor of 0.2 extends the recorded data pattern by 20% of the original data length to both the front and back ends of the recording's data.
Original data:[1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10]
Result data: [9,10,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,1,2]
- Repetition: The recorded data pattern is repeated by a multiplier specified in the Factor field.
Example
A Factor of 3.5 extends the recorded data pattern by 350% of the original data length, adding repeated data to the back end of the recording's data.
Original data: [0,1,2,3,4,5]
Result data:[0,1,2,3,4,5,0,1,2,3,4,5, 0,1,2,3,4,5, 0,1,2]
- Zero Padding: Zero ("0")data is added as a prefix and postfix to the recorded data based on the value entered in the Factor field.
- Minimum Length (Zero Padding and Cyclic Padding only) - Padding is added to the recording so that the specified minimum length is achieved.
- Zero Padding: Zeros are added to the head and tail of the recording data so that the specified minimum length is achieved.
- Cyclic Padding: The recorded data pattern is used to prefix the tail of the recording and append the head of the recording so that the specified minimum length is achieved.
- Zero Padding: Zeros are added to the head and tail of the recording data so that the specified minimum length is achieved.
