CCDF (802.15.4 HRP UWB)

CCDF shows the complementary cumulative distribution function of the signal for the data in the Time trace. From the CCDF Complementary Cumulative Distribution Function you can determine the probability that the power of a random data sample (x) is greater than K dB above the average power of the signal.

CCDF(K) = Probability(x ³ K)

This trace can be useful in designing an amplifier for a particular type of signal. For example, for a signal with the average power set at -10 dBm deciBels referenced to a milliWatt: dB relative to 1 milliwatt dissipated in the nominal input impedance of the analyzer and an amplifier that saturates at -9 dBm, you can find out what percentage of the time that the signal will be 1 dB above the average (which is the percentage of time that the amplifier will saturate) by placing a marker on the CCDF trace at 1 dB.

This trace will continue to accumulate data until the measurement is restarted.
