EVM Minimization: Frequency/Phase (LTE-Advanced)

Default: Selected

When Frequency/Phase is selected, the LTE Long Term Evolution demod compares the reference signal with the expected value and computes an error which is used to adjust the phase of the subcarrier values in each symbol.

When EVM Minimization is set to 3GPP, corrections are averaged and applied to each subframe for downlink and each slot for uplink.

When EVM Minimization is set to Tracking, corrections are applied to each symbol.

EVM Error vector magnitude (EVM): A quality metric in digital communication systems. See the EVM metric in the Error Summary Table topic in each demodulator for more information on how EVM is calculated for that modulation format. Minimization corrections are different from equalization or synchronization which are performed on an entire frame. See Equalizer Training and EVM Minimization for more information.
