Num of C-RS Ports (LTE)

Default: 1

Range: 1, 2, 4

Num of C-RS Ports specifies the number of C-RS Cell-specific RS (Cell-specific RS) antenna ports there are for the current LTE Long Term Evolution signal, and thus determines how many C-RS antenna port signals the demodulator searches for in the VSA measurement channels.

The number of measurement channels is determined by the Input > Channels setting. The number of measurement channels currently selected for analysis is shown in the Num of Meas Channels parameter on the Format tab.

When RS-PRS is set to Custom and any of the C-RS antenna port signals are phase delayed by more than 45 degrees, the demodulator will autodetect a different RS-PRS. This will cause equalization to be incorrect and demodulation will fail. To ensure correct demodulation of signals with a phase rotation of more than 45 degrees, set RS-PRS to 3GPP to allow RS-PRS to be determined by Cell ID according to the standard.

The maximum number of layers allowed for any user in the LTE Allocation Editor is constrained to be less than or equal to Num of Meas Channels. For PDSCH Physical Downlink Shared Channel allocations transmitted on C-RS antenna ports, the maximum number of layers is also constrained to be less than or equal to the Num of C-RS Ports.
