Using Signal Studio Setup Files (LTE)

The VSA supports importing Keysight Signal Studio LTE Long Term Evolution waveform setup files created using N7624B Signal Studio for 3GPP LTE, versions 7.9 and newer, or N7625B Signal Studio for 3GPP LTE TDD Time Division Duplex: A duplexing technique dividing a radio channel in time to allow downlink operation during part of the frame period and uplink operation in the remainder of the frame period., versions 3.0 and newer. You can import an LTE signal definition created in Signal Studio to configure the analyzer to demodulate and analyze the generated waveform.

Using a Signal Studio Setup File to Setup the VSA

To import the Signal Studio LTE waveform setup file, click File > Recall > Recall Signal Studio Setup. In the Recall Signal Studio Setup dialog box, select "Setup (*.scp;*.xml)" in the Files of Type drop-down list, and then open the file. When the signal studio file is opened, all relevant measurement, LTE setup, and LTE frame definition parameters are imported from the Signal Studio file.

In Signal Studio, the Carrier Type parameter indicates the direction of the LTE carrier and the version of the standard supported. The 89600 VSA LTE demodulator can recall Signal Studio setup files with the following carrier types:

Signal Studio does not support saving more than one frame's allocations into a setup file. For multi-frame (Waveform Generation Length greater than 1 Frame for FDD or greater than 2 Frames for TDD) Signal Studio setup files, the 89600 VSA can recall the measurement parameters but will not recall user mappings and will instead perform a power-based resource block autodetection.

For Advanced FDD Downlink and Advanced TDD carrier types, the 89600 VSA can recall the measurement parameters, but will not recall user mappings. Instead, a decoded-PDCCH Physical Downlink Control Channel autodetection will be performed.

The 89600 VSA comes with LTE test model setup files that include both frames of user allocations for TDD test model signals. See Selecting LTE Test Models for more information.
