Indicator Channels (W-CDMA(3GPP)/HSPA)

Menu Path: MeasSetup > W-CDMA(3GPP)/HSPA Demod Properties > Advanced tab

Default:PICH Page Indicator Channel Code Channel 16 (See W-CDMA(3GPP) Standard Setups/Presets Table.)

Range: 0 to 255

Indicator Channels specifies the indicator channel type and the control channel expected to be active.

This parameter is valid for Downlink only.

When AICH is selected the default is AICH Acquitision Indicator Channel Code Channel 10 and when MICH is selected the default is MICH Code Channel 0. The code number range for all indicator channel types is 0 to 255.

The types of Indicator Channels are:

AICH The Acquisition Indicator Channel is used to carry Acquistion Indicators (AI Acquisition Indicator) and Extended Acquisition Indicators (EAI) to UEs.
MICH The MBMS Indicator Channel is used to carry the Multimedia Broadcast & Multicast Service (MBMS) notification to UEs.
PICH The Paging Indicator Channel is used to carry the paging indicators to UEs.

Select the Enable DTX/Burst Detectionparameter (MeasSetup > W-CDMA(3GPP)/HSPA Demod Properties > Advanced tab).

If the indicator channel is active at the code channel indicated, it will be correctly analyzed in the measurement. If the channel is active at a different code channel, it may be interpreted as active at a lower symbol rate code layer due to the bit patterns used by the payload. If the channel is inactive, this parameter has no effect on the measurement.
