Dialog Box and Tabs (W-CDMA(3GPP)/HSPA)
The W-CDMA Code Division Multiple Access: One of several digital wireless transmission methods in which signals are encoded using a specific pseudo-random sequence, or code, to define a communication channel. A receiver, knowing the code, can use it to decode the received signal in the presence of other signals in the channel. This is one of several "spread spectrum" techniques, which allows multiple users to share the same radio frequency spectrum by assigning each active user an unique code. CDMA offers improved spectral efficiency over analog transmission in that it allows for greater frequency reuse. Other characteristics of CDMA systems reduce dropped calls, increase battery life and offer more secure transmission. See also IS-95. .The W-CDMA (3GPP)/HSPA Demod Properties dialog box contains tab headings that group similar configuration parameters as follows:

Format tab: Provides access to the W-CDMA(3GPP)/HSPA demod configuration parameters. These are the parameters necessary for the VSA to lock on to and demodulate the test signal. HSPA modulation analysis can also be selected from this property tab.

Channel/Layer tab: Specifies the measurement Despread Channel, CDP (code domain power) code layer, and Modulation Scheme parameters.

Time tab: Provides access to the signal capture configuration parameters. These parameters are used to isolate a segment of the time record for further viewing and data analysis.

Test Model tab: Specifies a 3GPP Test Model to specify the reference signal and override automatic detection.

Advanced tab: Specifies configuration parameters, which modify the default standard-compliant analysis algorithm.
