Pilot-aided Timing Estimation (W-CDMA(3GPP)/HSPA)
Cleared (See W-CDMA(3GPP) Standard Setups/Presets Table.)
selects between the standard timing estimation synchronization algorithm and an alternative Pilot-aided timing estimation synchronization algorithm for the CPICH Common Pilot Channel or Ant-2 CPICH sync types. This parameter applies to single input channel or oneTx Antenna system configurations.

is only available when the following conditions are satisfied:
- measurement selected and or is selected.
- When the is equal to 1 or only one input channel is configured.
When to use Pilot aided timing estimation
When "Pilot-aided timing estimation" is selected and the signal under test contains an asymmetric filter response from the receiver filter, the active code channels will be detected more reliably. This is reflected in the active channels displayed on CDP traces, as well as in the composite error metrics. It is not recommended to use this feature unless measurements appear unreliable with the default CPICH synchronization method.
