Test Model tab (W-CDMA(3GPP)/HSPA)
The Test Model tab of the CDMA Code Division Multiple Access: One of several digital wireless transmission methods in which signals are encoded using a specific pseudo-random sequence, or code, to define a communication channel. A receiver, knowing the code, can use it to decode the received signal in the presence of other signals in the channel. This is one of several "spread spectrum" techniques, which allows multiple users to share the same radio frequency spectrum by assigning each active user an unique code. CDMA offers improved spectral efficiency over analog transmission in that it allows for greater frequency reuse. Other characteristics of CDMA systems reduce dropped calls, increase battery life and offer more secure transmission. See also IS-95. analysis. This bypasses the automatic active channel identification portion of the W-CDMA analysis algorithm. Test Model setting is useful if you are working with a known Test Model signal or are trying to understand the problems of a signal intended to match a known 3GPP Test Model. Test Model parameters only apply to the Downlink signals.
dialog box provides a method to override the automatic active code channel detection algorithm with known 3GPP test models. Specifies a 3GPP Test Model to use as the basis for the reference signal in W-The VSA supports the following Test Model configuration presets:
-
† Test Model 5/6 only apply to HSDPA High Speed Downlink Packet Access downlink channels (Enable HSPDA Analysis selected).
