Unused Tone Mask (802.11n/ac/ax/be/bn)

The Unused Tone Mask property group settings are used to calculate the staircase mask requirement specified in Draft P802.11ax D1.2 and Draft P802.11be D1.1.

The properties in the Unused Tone Mask property group become active when TB (Trigger Based) PPDU PLCP Protocol data unit is the selected PPDU Type and RU Allocation.

There are two traces for unused tone mask results: OFDM In-band Emissions and OFDM Unused Tone Info. Additionally, UnusedToneEVM, Limit and Margin values for each M/RU are displayed in the OFDM RU Info trace.

HE-MCS modulation and coding scheme - (802.11ax only) Specifies the index of the MCS to be used in the calculation of the mask of unoccupied subcarriers.

Default: 0

Choices: 0-11

MCS - (802.11be/bn only) Specifies the index of the MCS to be used in the calculation of the mask of unoccupied subcarriers.

The results are not defined by 802.11bn D0.1 standard (for dRU or non-dRU).

Default: 0

Choices: 0-13, 15 (802.11be); 0-13 (802.11bn)

DCM - (802.11ax only; only applicable for MCS ≤4) Specifies whether Dual Subcarrier Modulation (DCM) is used in the calculation of the mask of unoccupied subcarriers.

With DCM: DCM is used in the calculation of the mask of unoccupied subcarriers.

Without DCM: DCM is not used in the calculation of the mask of unoccupied subcarriers.

MCS7 Max. Power(dBm) - Sets the maximum power of MCS7 for use in calculating the mask of unoccupied subcarriers.

Default: -30 dBm deciBels referenced to a milliWatt: dB relative to 1 milliwatt dissipated in the nominal input impedance of the analyzer

Range: -110 dBm to -20 dBm
