PPDU RU Allocation (802.11n/ac/ax/be)

The PPDU RU Allocation property configures the settings in the Demod Properties dialog for single-user (SU Single user), multi-user (MU Multi-user) or trigger based demodulation. This setting is only visible when an 802.11ax/be standard is selected.

SU (Single User) PPDU (802.11ax only)

When SU is selected, multi-user settings are disabled, and settings in the Data Subcarrier Modulation Format, Number of Spatial Streams, and Spatial Mapping Matrix group boxes in the Format tab are enabled for single-user configuration.

MU (Multiple User) PPDU
(802.11ax/be only)

When MU is selected, HE/EHT multi-user settings are enabled, and settings in the Data Subcarrier Modulation Format, Number of Spatial Streams, and Spatial Mapping Matrix group boxes in the Format tab are disabled.

Data Subcarrier Modulation Format is enabled for 802.11be (single user/compression MU mode).

From SIG Symbols - (Default, Preset to 802.11be Standard) The VSA uses information detected within the HE-SIG-A or EHT-SIG sections of the preamble to determine the multi-user RU allocations.

Manual - (Default, Preset to 802.11ax Standard) Manually configure the multi-user RU allocations using the RU Allocations group box when Sig B Compression Field/Compression Mode is unchecked.

TB (Trigger Based) PPDU
(802.11ax/be only)

When Trigger Based is selected, the Unused Tone Mask property group becomes active, enabling calculation of unoccupied subcarrier error vector magnitude for each unoccupied 26-tone RU.

Automatic (1 RU) - (802.11ax) Sets triggering based on a single auto-detected RU. All other RUs are assumed to be empty. Decode PSDU and Verify CRCs and the TB PPDU Parameters are grayed out and not supported in automatic detection mode.

Automatic (1 M/RU) - (802.11be) Sets triggering based on a single auto-detected MRU or RU. All other RUs are assumed to be empty. Decode PSDU and Verify CRCs and the TB PPDU Parameters are grayed out and not supported in automatic detection mode.

Manual - In the case of multiple RUs, this setting allows you to specify the RUs to include using the RU Allocations group box.
