Variant User Info (802.11n/ac/ax/be/bn)

Variant User Info mode is currently only supported for for 802.11bn with distributed RUs. The control is grayed out otherwise.

The Variant User Info parameters configure the Variant User Info field when Allocation Mode is set to Variant User Info. You can configure the Variant User Info field by entering the full 40-bit field, or you can enter the individual fields that make up the Variant User Info field.

Variant User Info (hex) – enter the full 40-bit value directly. The hex field supports either 0x hex digits or binary digits. The MSB Most significant bit. In a binary coding scheme, the bit having the greatest numerical value. Analogous to the left-most numeric position in a decimal number. shown corresponds to the LSB Least Significant Bit: In a binary coding scheme, the bit having the least numerical value. Analogous to the units position in a decimal number. in the standard (to match left-to-right ordering of bits in the standard). After clicking OK, the value entered in this field will be shown in hexadecimal in this field and in binary in the Variant User Info (bin) field.

Variant User Info (bin) – displays the 40-bit Variant User Info field as binary digits.

Variant User Info Fields

This section contains the individual decoded fields that make up the Variant User Info field. Setting these values will update the hex/bin fields and vice versa.

RU Allocation – RU allocation fields, matching the tables in the standard: PS160 preamble structure for 160 MHz Megahertz: A unit of frequency equal to one million hertz or cycles per second. (bit 24), B0 RU allocation bit 0 (bit 0), B7-B1 - RU allocation bits 7-1 (bits 1-7 as decimal).

MCS modulation and coding scheme – integer field indicating the modulation and coding scheme.

CodingBCC binary convolutional code or LDPC low-density parity check

2xLDPC – enables or disables LDPC 2x extended 1944-bit.

DRU SS Allocation and DBW – five binary bits (LSB first)

Distribution BW – selects the distribution bandwidth for DRU mode (20 MHz, 40 MHz, 80 MHz or 160 MHz).

Number of Spatial Streams – integer field (1 or 2).
