Compression Mode RU Settings (802.11n/ac/ax/be)
For 802.11ax and 802.11be multi-user case scenarios, different users are designated to different spatial time streams when the compression mode is on (Sig B Compression Field selected).
802.11ax/be Standards (Except 802.11ax 80+80 MHz)
The following rules apply to all 802.11ax/be standards except 802.11ax 80+80 MHz Megahertz: A unit of frequency equal to one million hertz or cycles per second.:
-
The number of users never exceeds the number of input channels.
-
The number of spatial time streams of each user never exceeds 4.
-
The sum of the number of spatial time streams of each user never exceeds the number of input channels.
Compression Mode RU Settings is comprised of a User Number and an Edit RU button. Clicking Edit RU opens a Multi-User Settings Editor that is specific to compression mode.
User Number - Displays the configured User Count.
Edit RU... - Opens a Multi-User Settings Editor that is specific to non-compression mode.
802.11ax 80+80 MHz Standard
The 802.11ax 80+80 MHz standard only supports one measurement channel per each 80 MHz segment. Therefore, the number of transmit chains (Ntx) is fixed to 1 and only one user exists in each 80 MHz segment. Since there are two single-user segments, the Multi-User Settings Editor does not apply and is replaced with a simplified Seg n Settings dialog for setting the MCS modulation and coding scheme for each segment.
