OFDM Band Power Markers (802.11a/g/j/p OFDM)
For OFDM Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing: OFDM employs multiple overlapping radio frequency carriers, each operating at a carefully chosen frequency that is Orthogonal to the others, to produce a transmission scheme that supports higher bit rates due to parallel channel operation. OFDM is an alternative tranmission scheme to DSSS and FHSS. trace data that contains Z-axis information, the band power is calculated using the 2D Average Line.
The following information will help you use band power markers with OFDM Error Vector Spectrum and OFDM Error Vector Time traces:
-
Set
to so the band power marker computation type matches the trace data marker readout computation type. -
To measure a single x-axis location, select the
and enter the desired X-axis position in the text box and enter a value of 0 in the text box. -
To measure a specific region, it is more precise to use the fields on the Calculation tab to position the band power markers instead of the mouse :
Clear the
. Then enter the measurement region's left X-axis position in the text box and enter the right X-axis position in the text box.
