At the default, the E5072A executes the IF ranging for the source port before measurements in order to reduce the measurement time. This is possible because the E5072A knows the input signal level for receiver. However, when the following jumpers are removed and the signal is input into the receiver directly, the E5072A cannot know the signal level into receivers before measurements.
Jumpers between RCVR A or B IN and CPLR ARM
Jumpers between RCVR R1 or R2 IN and SOURCE OUT
Therefore, you need to change the IF ranging mode. The IF ranging is executed during measurements.
This setting is valid for all of channels. Preset does not change the source port IF ranging mode setting.
This setting also cannot be saved or recalled. For more information, see Saving and Recalling Instrument State.
