Burst Shape Type

Rise Time

Range: 1/oversampling rate to 50 symbols

Default: 3.0000

Resolution: 1/oversampling rate. For example, if the oversampling rate is 4, the resolution is 1/4 (= 0.250).

Set the rise time of the burst.

Rise Delay

Range: –10 to 50 symbols

Default: 0.0000

Resolution: 1/oversampling rate. For example, if the oversampling rate is 4, the resolution is 1/4 (= 0.250).

Set the rise delay of the burst.

Fall Time

Range: 1/oversampling rate to 50 symbols

Default: 3.0000

Resolution: 1/oversampling rate. For example, if the oversampling rate is 4, the resolution is 1/4 (= 0.250).

Set the fall time of the burst.

Fall Delay

Range: –10 to 50 symbols

Default: 0.0000

Burst Shape Type

Choice: Sine | User Defined Shape

Default: Sine

  1. Click the Details button in this cell to open the Burst Shape Selection dialog window.

  2. Select Sine or User Defined Shape.

  3. Select User Defined Shape to create a custom burst shape. See the Closeddrop-down figure.

    Create a custom burst shape

    Click to navigate to an existing file of burst shape data.

    Click to save the burst shape data defined in the Burst Shape Selection window to a file.

    Click to delete entered data from the Burst Shape Selection window.

    Click to insert a sample row in the Rise Shape or Fall Shape table and enter a value for the sample to modify the burst shape.

    Click to apply the value entered for the sample.

    Click to delete the selected row from the Rise Shape or Fall Shape table.

    Click in the Rise Shape pane to make the fall shape a mirror image of the rise shape.

    Click in the Fall Shape pane to make the rise shape a mirror image of the fall shape.

    Click to apply your changes to the displayed graph of the burst shape. See the example below.

    Click OK to apply your changes and close the window or Cancel to close the window without applying your changes.
