Ensemble Basic

The definition of Ensemble

The ensemble, also called multiplexer, could be considered as the transmitted signal, comprising a set of regularly and closely-spaced orthogonal carriers. The ensemble is the entity which is received and processed. In general, it contains programme and data services.

An ensemble could also be considered as a collection of all the broadcasting stations on one fixed frequency.

Ensemble setup in Signal Studio

Click on Ensemble, Services or Service components to see how to set it in N7611C.

As shown in the Ensemble setup view above, one Ensemble could include multiple Service Components. There are two ways to add a Service Component to an Ensemble

  1. Under Service Components node.

Notice that using method 1, the added Service Components will reside in the Ensemble root directory, and no Service Components are allocated to specific Services (Service 0, Service 1 or others).

  2. Under each Service node (Service 0, Service 1 or others).

While using method 2, the added Service Components will not only reside in the Ensemble root directory, but also are allocated to the specific Service.
