After downloading the waveform, the signal generator displays error: Baseband Generator DAC over range.
Cause: The number of frames and some baseband filter selections (such as NONE) can result in a high crest factor, causing digital to analog converter (DAC) overflow.
Solution: Reduce the runtime scaling value. For example, 50 percent or less.
After downloading the waveform, the signal generator front panel keys do not work.
Cause: Downloading the waveform places the signal generator in remote operation, which deactivates the front panel operation.
Solution: On the signal generator, press the
key to restore front panel operation. After clicking in the tool bar, an authorization dialog box or license error message appears.
Cause: A license file for a signal generator being used cannot be found on the PC or in the instrument.
Solution: The software requires a license to be fully functional. You must have either a permanent license or a non-expired 14-day trial license for each signal generator being used. To get a free one time 14-day trial license or purchase a permanent license, see Licensing.
After clicking
or "FW version is not valid" appears in the Note column of the Instruments window.Cause: The current firmware version of the signal generator needs to be upgraded.
Solution: See System Requirements for information on updating the required firmware.
After clicking
in the tool bar, the error message "Insufficient memory in signal generator" appears.Cause: The generated waveform may exceed the Arb memory.
Solution: After you click
, the software automatically detects the size of Arb memory in the signal generator and compares it with the size of the generated waveform. In some configurations, the generated waveform size exceeds 8 Msamples. In this case, it isn't possible to transfer the waveform into a signal generator with Options 001 or 601. Use a signal generator with Options 002 or 602 for more waveform memory.Cause: When a "Restricted User" tries to run the Signal Studio application without the correct security permissions, an unhandled exception error message indicates that access is denied.
Solution: The administrator must set the correct user permissions in the Signal Studio installation folder. See the instructions in User Permissions.
