The test set supports the following handover types:
Physical Channel Reconfiguration
Establish a call with the UE and verify that Connected is shown in the Active Cell field (see Set Up a Call and Make a Connection).
Press the CALL SETUP key.
Select Handovers ( F5 ).
Select Physical Chan Reconfig ( F1 ).
To perform an inter-frequency handover, set PCR Channel (UARFCN) as desired;
To change the closed loop power control step size during a connection , set the PCR UL CL Power Ctrl Step Size as desired.
To perform a single code/multi-code RMC handover, set the PCR DPCH Type State to On and set the PCR DPCH Type as desired.
Set other PCR parameters.
Select Execute Handover ( F5 ).
Verify that Connected is still shown in the Active Cell field.
Before you perform a system handover to GSM format, ensure the following: 1) The RF IN/OUT Amptd Offset (see Amplitude Offset) is set correctly for both the TD-SCDMA and GSM frequencies. 2) Your DUT is configured to automatically search the network.
Confirm that the GSM/GPRS format is in active cell operating mode (press the SYSTEM CONFIG key, select Format Switch ( F2 ), select GSM/GPRS, and set Operating Mode ( F1 ) to Active Cell). Return to the TD-SCDMA format by format switch.
Establish an RB test mode (non-HSDPA) or AMR Radio Access Bearer call with the UE and verify that Connected is shown in the Active Cell field (see Set Up a Call and Make a Connection).
Press the CALL SETUP key.
Select Handovers ( F5 ).
Select System Handover ( F3 ).
Set the GSM system parameters as needed.
Select Execute Handover ( F5 ).
When performing a handover from RB test mode to a GSM voice call with RB Test Mode to GSM Handover Alerting State set to On , the UE will ring. You must answer the ring for the connection to be completed and testing to progress.
Verify that SYS Type field is now GSM or GPRS, and Connected is still shown in the Active Cell field.
