Absolute Amplitude Accuracy Low Freq Performance Test

(Option PAA)

This test measures the absolute amplitude of the analyzer over the frequency range from 50 MHz to 7.5 GHz. PAA configuration improves the absolute amplitude accuracy of the analyzer for the full frequency range. The complete analyzer Absolute Amplitude Accuracy (Option PAA) is measured with the following tests:

A “buried power sensor” technique is used to characterize the tracking error of a power splitter in order to avoid the relatively large specified tracking error. This technique reduces the measurement uncertainty to verify the absolute amplitude accuracy (Option PAA) specification for the 50 MHz to 7.5 GHz range. The buried sensor calibration is valid for four hours.

This test determines the absolute amplitude accuracy for CXA-m PXIe signal analyzers with Option PAA over the frequency range from 50 MHz to 3 GHz (Option F03), or 7.5 GHz (Options F07, F13, and F26).

  1. Refer to the main equipment list for a list of alternative models (if available).
  2. The 3.5 mm (m) to 3.5 mm (m) adapter between the power splitter and the DUT is critical in this test. Proper connector care and torqueing practices must be followed in order to insure optimal performance.
