Reference Measurement Channel (Channel Sounding)

Reference Measurement Channel specifies the reference channel when there are multiple channels being analyzed and Auto-select Highest SNR is cleared. When Auto-select Highest SNR is selected, this parameter is ignored and the reference channel is determined as the one with the highest SNR Signal-to-Noise Ratio in the peak of the impulse response.

The Reference Channel is used to determine the t=0 sec point on the x-axis for the Impulse Response trace. It is also used for Frequency Offset calculation when Compensation Source is Reference Measurement Channel.

When measurement averaging is enabled (MeasSetup > Average), make sure that you set the Reference Measurement Channel manually. When Auto-select Highest SNR is selected, the position of the impulse response will change if the reference measurement channel changes, which will affect the average.
