Compensate Symbol Clock Error (Custom OFDM)

Compensate Symbol Clock Error enables or disables the internal adjustment in the timing of the symbol clock.

When analyzing an OFDM Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing: OFDM employs multiple overlapping radio frequency carriers, each operating at a carefully chosen frequency that is Orthogonal to the others, to produce a transmission scheme that supports higher bit rates due to parallel channel operation. OFDM is an alternative tranmission scheme to DSSS and FHSS. signal, the VSA estimates the actual symbol clock frequency and compares it to the OFDM System Sample Frequency property (on the Format tab). The ratio difference in clock frequency is reported on OFDM Error Summary trace as SymClkErr.

When enabled, it estimates the symbol clock error, then internally adjusts the OFDM system sample clock to match the estimate. The result is generally smaller EVM Error vector magnitude (EVM): A quality metric in digital communication systems. See the EVM metric in the Error Summary Table topic in each demodulator for more information on how EVM is calculated for that modulation format. values.
