Align Polar Modulation (GSM/EDGE/EDGE Evolution)

Default: Cleared

Align Polar Modulation specifies whether to correct the signal for any skew between the phase and amplitude modulation parts of the signal during demodulation.

The AM/PM Skew data result on the Summary trace displays the amount of timing skew between the Amplitude Modulation and Phase Modulation parts of the signal.

The demodulator synchronizes to the the AM Amplitude Modulation - CW modulation using amplitude variation in proportion to the amplitude of the modulating signal. Usually taken as DSB-LC for commercial broadcast transmissions and DSB-SC for multiplexed systems. and PM parts of the training sequence separately to calculate the AM/PM skew. See AM/PM Skew for more information.

Align Polar Modulation is only available when Burst Sync Mode is set to Polar Mod.

Align Polar Modulation does not apply for GMSK Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying signals since GMSK signals have constant amplitude.
