Burst Sync Mode (GSM/EDGE/EDGE Evolution)

Default: Training Seq (TSC)

Burst Sync Mode specifies how the demodulator synchronizes to the burst. Burst Sync Mode is restricted to Training Seq (TSC) when Burst Type is set to Mixed (NB/HB).

Training Seq (TSC): the demodulator will use the training sequence to synchronize to the burst.
RF Amp: the demodulator will use the RF Radio Frequency: A generic term for radio-based technologies, operating between the Low Frequency range (30k Hz) and the Extra High Frequency range (300 GHz). envelope to synchronize the burst. The training sequence is not searched for so the TSC data result on the Summary trace will be blank.

This selection can be used to demodulate bursts that have missing or incorrect training sequences.
Polar Mod: the demodulator synchronize to the amplitude and phase parts of the training sequence separately.

When Polar Mod is selected, AM/PM Skew will be calculated and displayed on the Summary trace, except for bursts using GMSK Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying modulation.
None: the signal will be demodulated without synchronization. In this case, the beginning of the burst needs to be determined by triggering.

This selection can be used to demodulate non-bursted signals.

When Burst Sync Mode is set to RF Amp or None, Normalize IQ Traces will always be selected.
