About Installation and Licensing
A license is required to run PathWave Vector Signal Analysis (89600 VSA). There are several types of licenses available. The choice of license depends on how you want to use 89600 VSA. Refer to the PathWave Vector Signal Analysis Installation Guide Installing Licenses chapter for more license overview and installation information.
The different types of licenses are:
-
Demo: The demo license enables you to run 89600 VSA with limited functionality (often for demonstration purposes). You can use this license to explore PathWave Vector Signal Analysis, its functions and the user interface through the built-in online help facility. The demo license is automatically enabled during the 89600 VSA installation process.
-
Trial: The Trial license enables all PathWave Vector Signal Analysis options for a temporary trial period. This license gives you time to purchase and install a permanent license (Transportable or Floating license) while temporarily running a fully licensed 89600 VSA software. During trial period, you to use " try out" all software options, even if you already purchased and installed a VSA license.
-
Transportable: A transportable node-locked license that enables the software and options that you purchased. The license must be installed on the same PC that runs the 89600 VSA software. However, the license can be moved from one PC to another.
-
Floating: A floating license enables you to install the 89600 VSA software on more than one PC and easily move a license between PCs. You can run the software simultaneously on the number of PCs equal to the number of floating licenses available. A Windows server is required to manage license control, keeping track of how many licenses are checked out and how many are available for use. Client PCs obtain licenses from the server to run the 89600 VSA software.
-
USB: The USB dongle provides a Host ID, which unlocks a license file is that installed on the hard drive.
