Uplink user allocations (LTE)

You can have the demodulator autodetect channel and signal allocations, or you can define user mappings manually. Click one of the following links to jump to that section.

You can interact with the allocations in the RB Mapping grid below by clicking on them. Clicking selects an allocation. Dragging will reposition an allocation. And, dragging the circular handles at the corners will resize an allocation.

Configuring uplink channels for autodetection

  1. Select the channel to be used for synchronization

Click MeasSetup > LTE Demod Properties > Format tab > Sync Type and select the desired channel.

PUSCH Physical Uplink Shared Channel, PUCCH Physical Uplink Control Channel, and SRS Signaling Reference Signal powers are expressed relative to the 0 dB level set by the average power of the channel/signal chosen for synchronization. See the Sync Type topic for more information.

See the Power (dB) parameter for uplink channels in the LTE Allocation Editor topic for more information.

  2. Open the LTE Allocation Editor

Click MeasSetup > LTE Demod Properties > Profile Tab > Edit User Mappings...

  3. Select RB Auto-Detect
  4. Set Cell ID, RNTI, and Frame No. for User01

All autodetected channels and signals are assigned to User01.

  5. Configure the user's Group Hopping and Sequence Hopping parameters

  6. Select the Present in Signal check box for the channels that are present for the current user.

The LTE Long Term Evolution demodulator does not support analyzing PRACH Physical Random Access Channel with PUSCH, PUCCH, and SRS. Selecting Present in Signal for PRACH will deselect the other channels from being included in the analysis.

  7. Select the Include in Analysis check box for the channels you want to analyze

  8. Configure Channel Parameters or Signal Parameters and Per-slot Parameters for PUSCH, PUCCH, SRS, and PRACH. Click one of the links below to jump to the section describing how to set up that channel.

  9. Click OK to save your changes.

Configuring user mappings manually

  1. Select the channel to be used for synchronization

Click MeasSetup > LTE Demod Properties > Format tab > Sync Type and select the desired channel.

PUSCH, PUCCH, and SRS powers are expressed relative to the 0 dB level set by the average power of the channel/signal chosen for synchronization.

See the Power (dB) parameter for uplink channels in the LTE Allocation Editor topic for more information.

  2. Open the LTE Allocation Editor

Click MeasSetup > LTE Demod Properties > Profile Tab > Edit User Mappings...

  3. Clear RB Auto-Detect

  4. Add a user

Click the Add button next to the list of users.

  5. Set the user's Cell ID

  6. Configure the user's Group Hopping and Seq Hopping parameters

  7. Select the Present in Signal check box for the channels that are present for the current user.

The LTE demodulator does not support analyzing PRACH with the PUSCH, PUCCH, and SRS. Selecting Present in Signal for PRACH will deselect the other channels from being included in the analysis.

  8. Select the Include in Analysis check box for the channels you want to analyze

  9. Configure Channel or Signal Parameters and Per-slot Parameters for PUSCH, PUCCH, SRS, and PRACH. Click one of the links below to jump to the section describing how to set up that channel.

  10. Repeat steps 4-9 for more users.

  11. Click OK to save your changes.
