When the checkbox is selected, the CPE filter length is selected on a dynamic basis, depending on the detected (or manually set) TFC. The CPE filter in the standard is an exponential decay filter specified by its "time constant" which is effectively its average length. The standard calls out different lengths for the CPE filter depending on TFC: 12 for FFI (TFCs 5-7), 6 for TFI2 (TFCs 8-10), and 4 for TFI (TFC 1-4).
When the checkbox is cleared, the CPE filter length is set manually by Phase Track Average Length.
