From Pulse Search (MB-OFDM)

Default: Cleared (See MB-OFDM Standard Setups/Presets Table.)

When From Pulse Search is selected for Result Length, the VSA automatically determines the measurement result length by comparing the number of symbol-times detected within the burst to the Max Result Length parameter and using the smaller value as the measurement result length.

In this mode, the algorithm attempts to locate the end of the packet by finding where the packet power turns off, in a manner similar to how the beginning of the burst is found when Pulse Search is turned on. If the time record ends before the end of the packet is found, that will be taken as the end of the packet. Then the detected measurement result length  is rounded to the nearest 6 symbol-times.

The following figures illustrate how the VSA determines the measurement result length in the From Pulse Search mode when the Max Result Length is greater than (Fig. 1) and less than (Fig. 2) the number of symbol-times detected in the burst.

Figure 1 Max Result Length is greater-than the burst length: The measurement result length will default to the number of symbol-times within the burst.

Figure 2 Max Result Length is less-than or equal to the burst length: The measurement result length is set to the Max Result Length.
