IQ Impairments (5G NR/5G-Advanced)

The IQ Impairments parameter group contains controls for IQ estimation, compensation and DC puncture of 5G NR Tx signals.

IQ Imb. Estimation Mode - Sets the mode for performing IQ imbalance calculations.

Off - (default) IQ imbalance calculations are not performed.

Per Carrier - IQ imbalance calculation is averaged over all symbols and all subcarriers in the carrier, use this mode when the IQ imbalance across subcarriers is flat. While Per Carrier IQ imbalance estimation is recommended in many cases, it can also result in slower test times. For this reason, IQ imbalance estimation is off by default.

Per Subcarrier - IQ imbalance calculation is averaged and applied to each subcarrier. This selection is used in cases where the IQ Imbalance is not flat across the subcarriers. While Per Subcarrier IQ imbalance estimation is useful in many cases, it can also result in slower test times.

Compensate IQ Imb. - When selected, IQ imbalance compensation is applied per the selected IQ Imbalance Estimation Mode.

Compensate IQ Offset - When selected, IQ offset compensation is applied to the carrier.

DC Punctured - When enabled, the DC subcarrier In an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) or orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) signal, the subcarrier whose frequency would be equal to the RF center frequency of the station. is excluded from measurement results. This is often helpful to avoid obscuring measurement results with artifacts of LO feedthrough.
