Bandwidth (5G NR/5G-Advanced)

The Bandwidth panel contains parameters that define the bandwidth and numerologies for the selected carrier definition.

Bandwidth - Sets the frequency range and bandwidth for the selected carrier definition and its mapped component carriers. This setting performs the same functionality as the Aggregation Table's per-carrier Bandwidth setting, but it may be more convenient to use this setting when working with a single carrier definition.

Setting this value reverts the Max RB for Valid Numerologies to Default and resets the User Defined values to those defined in 3GPP specification 38.104 table 5.3.2-1 and 5.3.2-2. This value also determines the set of valid Numerology that can be used by a resource allocation within the carrier.

The 15k/30kHz subcarrier spacing can be used only in frequency range 1; 120kHz/240kHz/ subcarrier spacing can be used only in frequency range 2; 60kHz subcarrier spacing can be used in either frequency range 1 or frequency range 2.

Default: FR1 100 MHz Megahertz: A unit of frequency equal to one million hertz or cycles per second.

Choices: FR1 3 MHz, FR1 5 MHz, FR1 10 MHz, FR1 15 MHz, FR1 20 MHz, FR1 25 MHz, FR1 30 MHz, FR1 35 MHz, FR1 40 MHz, FR1 45 MHz, FR1 50 MHz, FR1 60 MHz, FR1 70 MHz, FR1 80 MHz, FR1 90 MHz, FR1 100 MHz, FR2 50 MHz, FR2 100 MHz, FR2 200 MHz, FR2 400 MHz, FR2-2 800 MHz, FR2-2 1600 MHz, FR2-2 2000 MHz

Resource Grid

The Resource Grid group of settings configures the resource block grids for one to three numerologies. The selected Bandwidth(s) determines the available numerologies and grid sizes (RBs).

Grid Start - Sets the starting resource block for the Numerology.

Grid Size - Sets the number of resource blocks for the Numerology. The default value is the max RB size for the numerology based on the selected Bandwidth.

Grid Enabled - Enables or disables the numerology. Selecting Grid Enabled adds a numerology to the BWP tab's Numerology drop-down list of available numerologies.

Ref. Point A - Read-only display of the frequency value that should align with the value in a DUT Device under Test: An acronym used to describe some type of electrical apparatus connected to test instrumentation. The apparatus can range from a single component to a complex subsystem such as a mobile phone, base station or MSC. system configuration. This helps ensure resource grid alignment between the DUT signal and the measurement configuration. the value displayed reflects the bandwidth and offset from measurement center frequency of the configured SS/PBCH region.

Rate Match LTE CRS

(Downlink only) The Rate Match LTE CRS parameter group enables and configures the 5G NR DL Down Link (forward link: from base station to cell phone) signal to avoid colliding with an LTE cell-specific reference signal (CRS) with a shared DL frequency. When enabled, the base station uses the group of LTE parameters to ensure that the PDSCH Physical Downlink Shared Channel is not mapped to the LTE CRS resource elements.

This setting can only be enabled when numerology 15kHz is enabled for this carrier. If 15kHz numerology is not enabled or if another numerology is enabled, the Rate Match LTE CRS parameter group is disabled.

LTE Center Freq - sets the LTE carrier center frequency, relative to Ref. Point A (in subcarrier units). The subcarrier spacing is 15kHz.

Rate Match LTE CRS are only enabled when numerology 15kHz is enabled for this carrier. If 15kHz numerology is not enabled or if another numerology is enabled, the Rate Match LTE CRS parameter group is disabled.

Default: Standard

Choices: Standard, Custom Defined

One Frame Allocation (LTE MBSFN Resource Type = Standard) - specifies the LTE MBSFN subframe allocation in one frame.

This value is the long format representation of 6 bits binary, which is a bitmap indicating MBSFN subframe allocation for one frame. A value of "1" in a bit position denotes that the corresponding subframe is allocated for MBSFN.

The following mapping applies:

    Bit 1 Bit 2 Bit 3 Bit 4 Bit 5 Bit 6
FDD Frequency Division Duplex: A duplex scheme in which uplink and downlink transmissions use different frequencies but are typically simultaneous. Subframe 1 Subframe 2 Subframe 3 Subframe 6 Subframe 7 Subframe 8
TDD Time Division Duplex: A duplexing technique dividing a radio channel in time to allow downlink operation during part of the frame period and uplink operation in the remainder of the frame period. Subframe 3 Subframe 4 Subframe 7 Subframe 8 Subframe 9 N/A

Default: 000000

Range: 000000 to 111111

MBSFN Frame Period (LTE MBSFN Resource Type = Standard) - specifies the MBSFN subframe allocation period in frames. MBSFN frame periodicity is currently limited to 1.

Default: 1

Choices: 1

MBSFN Frame Offset (LTE MBSFN Resource Type = Standard) - specifies the LTE MBSFN frame allocation offset. MBSFN frame offset is currently limited to 0.

Default: 0

Range: 0

MBSFN Subframes (LTE MBSFN Resource Type = Custom Defined) - specifies which subframes are MBSFN subframes using the subframe index array. This allocation repeats in every frame.

If no MBSFN subframe is configured, enter -1.

Default: Undefined

IntraCellGuardBand-r16

When this ComponentCarrier is transmitted in unlicensed spectrum, it is possible that some segments of the band are not available for this carrier. These segments are defined as Intra-cell guard bands.

Intra-cell guard band is only defined for the 15kHz and 30kHz Numerologies. At most, there can be 4 intra-cell guard bands for each numerology. According to TS38.331-g10 6.3.2, a guard band is defined with its start CRB and number of CRBs.

Guard Bands (15 kHz kiloHertz: A radio frequency measurement (one kilohertz = one thousand cycles per second).) - Displays this carrier's intra-cell guard bands for the 15 kHz Numerology. Click Config Guard Bands... to create or edit guard bands. If the resource grid for the 15kHz numerology is disabled for this carrier, the guard band configuration for the 15kHz numerology will not have any impact on the measurement.

Start - Displays the common RB (CRB) start index of each guard band allocation configured with 15kHz numerology. The reference CRB for this value is CRB 0. This value, along with Size, decide which RBs are not available for New Radio channel transmission with 15kHz numerology.

Size - Displays the number of common RBs (CRBs) in each guard band allocation configured with 15kHz numerology. This value, along with Start, decide which RBs are not available for New Radio channel transmission with 15kHz numerology.

Guard Bands (30 kHz) - Displays this carrier's intra-cell guard bands for the 30 kHz Numerology. Click Config Guard Bands... to create or edit guard bands. If the resource grid for the 30kHz numerology is disabled for this carrier, the guard band configuration for the 30kHz numerology will not have any impact on the measurement.

Start - Displays the common RB (CRB) start index of each guard band allocation configured with 30kHz numerology. The reference CRB for this value is CRB 0. This value, along with Size, decide which RBs are not available for New Radio channel transmission with 30kHz numerology.

Size - Displays the number of common RBs (CRBs) in each guard band allocation configured with 30kHz numerology. This value, along with Start, decide which RBs are not available for New Radio channel transmission with 30kHz numerology.

Config Guard Bands... - Sets the starting resource block for the Numerology.

Num. of Meas. Channels - Displays the currently selected number of measurement channels set in Input > Channels > User: 1 Channel. The number of measurement channels depends on the system/signal configuration.

Default: 1

Ref. Meas. Channel - Sets measurement channel to be used as the reference signal. This field is grayed out and set to Channel 0 when the number of measurement channels is 1.

For uplink, the Ref. Meas. Channel and Ref. Antenna Port settings are used to determine a reference for per-path metrics presented in the MIMO Info summary table. This affects both single input channel measurements of multi-port transmissions, and multiple input channel measurements of multi-port transmissions.

Default: 0

Range: 0-(number of measurement channels - 1)
