PUCCH (5G NR/5G-Advanced)
The
panel contains the available parameters for one or more PUCCH.PUCCH Channel Configuration
Add PUCCH - Adds a PUCCH to the transmission. When a PUCCH is added, a representative button is added at the top of the PUCCH parameter group.
Remove PUCCH - Removes the selected PUCCH.
Clear All - Removes all but the original PUCCH.
Enable Channels... - Quickly enables and disables the configured PUCCHs in a single dialog. You can also enable channels individually using the Enabled checkbox at the top of each PUCCH.
PUCCH
Enabled - Enables or disables the selected PUCCH. You can also control all configured PUCCHs using the Enabled Channels dialog.
Default: Disabled
PUCCH selection needs to be disabled whenever PUSCH auto-detection is enabled. |
PUCCH Format - Sets the decoding format for the PUCCH Physical channel.
Default: Format 2
Choices: Format 0, Format 1, Format 2, Format 3, Format 4
BWP ID - Assigns the selected PUCCH to one of the five available bandwidth parts.
Default: BWP0
Choices: BWP0, BWP1, BWP2, BWP3, BWP4
3GPP Version - Determines the 3GPP standard the PUCCH is compliant with.

Time/Freq Allocation
Interlaced Transmission - Enables or disables interlaced transmission. When Interlaced Transmission is used by this PUCCH, the PUCCH is repeatedly mapped to the configured Interlace0 inside the RB set configured using RB-Set Index.
For PUCCH format 2 and 3, it is possible that a second interlace (Interlace1) may be configured. In this case, select Interlace1 Configured and set the index of the interlace used for Interlace1.
Interlaced transmission also affects the cyclic shift hopping sequence initialization.
Default: disabled
Interlace1 Configured - When selected, indicates that a second interlace (Interlace1) is configured. Use Interlace1 to set the index of Interlace1.
Default: disabled
Allocated Slots - Sets an array of slot indexes allocated for this physical channel.
Default: 0
Payload Size - Sets the payload size of HARQ Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request+SR 1) Spread rate: also know as the chip rate and is the rate of the digital code used to spread the information. The spreading rate is typically at least 100x the information rate. or, 2) Sample Rate: rate at which samples are taken from an input signal or, 3) Scheduling Request+CSI1. For PUCCH Formats 2, 3 and 4, it is possible CSI2 bits are part of the transmission. CSI2 bits are encoded separately under CSI2 Bit Size, therefore this payload size should not contain CIS2 bits.

First Symbol - Sets the first symbol index in a slot used by the physical channel.
Default: 13
Range: 0-13
Last Symbol - Sets the last symbol index in a slot used by the physical channel.
Default: 13
Range: 0-13
RB Offset - Sets the start index of resource block assigned to the physical channel. This value specifies the RB starting point within the containing resource allocation.
Default: 0 RB
UL Up Link (reverse link: from cell phone to base station)-BWP RB Offset is independent of the RB Offset settings for the physical channel. |
RB Number - Sets the number of RBs for the measurement. This value specifies the RB starting point within the containing resource allocation.
Default: 1 RB
The RB Number settings for the PUSCH and PUCCH physical channels are constrained by the UL-BWP RB Number setting value. |

Currently the VSA only supports continuous physical RB allocation. |
Max Code Rate (PUCCH Format 2, 3 and 4 only) - Sets the value used to calculate the rate-matched bit size of CSI1 & CSI2. Max Code Rate must be set correctly for successful decoding.
Default: 0.80
CSI2 Bit Size (PUCCH Formats 2, 3 and 4 only) - When enabled, sets the payload size of CSI2.
Default: 1
RB-Set Index - Sets a value indicating the RB set used by this PUCCH when Interlaced Transmission is used. This value indicates the index of the RB set on which this PUCCH is allocated.
When the New Radio carrier is in unlicensed spectrum, it is possible that some segments of the spectrum are not available for New Radio signal transmission. These segments are defined as Intra-Cell guard bands. These guard bands divide the whole carrier into several RB sets: at most there can be 4 guard bands and 5 RB sets. See IntraCellGuardBand-r16 in the Configuration > Bandwidth panel for more information.

Interlace0 - Sets a value indicating the index of Interlace0 used by this PUCCH when Interlaced Transmission is true (selected).
Multiple interlaces are defined for the 15kHz and 30kHz numerologies. For Numerology 15kHz, 10 interlaces are defined. For Numerology 30kHz, 5 interlaces are defined.
Default: 0
Interlace1 - Sets a value indicating the index of the second interlace, Interlace1, used by this PUCCH when Interlaced Transmission and Interlace1 Configured are true (selected).
Multiple interlaces are defined for the 15kHz and 30kHz numerologies. For Numerology 15kHz, 10 interlaces are defined. For Numerology 30kHz, 5 interlaces are defined.

Format Configuration
RNTI (PUCCH Formats 2, 3, and 4 only) - Sets the RNTI for the selected PUCCH physical channel.
Default: 0
nID (PUCCH Formats 2, 3, and 4 only) - Sets the ID value used for DMRS sequence generation.
Default: 0
Group Hopping (PUCCH Formats 0, 1, 3, and 4 only) - Selects the group hopping mode for the selected PUCCH.
Default: Neither
Choices: Neither, Enabled, Disabled
Hopping ID (PUCCH Formats 0, 1, and 4 only) - Sets the hopping ID when hopping is used.
Default: 0
Range: 0-1023
Additional DMRS Enabled (PUCCH Formats 1, 3, and 4 only) - Enables or disables a second DMRS symbol per hop of the PUCCH.
Default: disabled
Half-Pi BPSK Binary phase shift keying - A type of phase modulation using 2 distinct carrier phases to signal ones and zeros. Enabled (PUCCH Formats 3 and 4 only) - Enables or disables pi/2 BPSK for UCI symbols instead of QPSK Quadrature phase shift keying for the selected PUCCH.
Default: disabled
Intra-slot Frequency Hopping (All PUCCH Formats) - Enables or disables intra-slot frequency hopping. Intra-slot hopping should be used when spanning a single slot.
Default: disabled
2nd Hop RB Offset (All PUCCH Formats) - Sets the RB offset of the second hop in the PUCCH transmission.
Default: 0 RB
Initial Cyclic Shift (m0) (PUCCH Formats 0 and 1 only) - Sets the initial cyclic shift for the sequence generation.
Default: 0
Sequence Cyclic Shift (mcs) (PUCCH Format 0 only) - Sets mcs for the PUCCH as a single value, or as a series of comma-separated, repeating values to set a different mcs for each slot.
Sequence Cyclic Shift (mcs) is only needed when this Format 0 PUCCH overlaps with other Format 0 PUCCHs. There may be two or more overlapping PUCCHs with Format 0; mcs needs to be set correctly for all overlapping PUCCHs. If you know the payload bits (1 or 2 bit HARQ-ACK Acknowledgement value), set the PUCCH mcs value according to 3GPP TS Technical Specification 38.213 Tables 9.2.3-3, 9.2.3-4, 9.2.5-1 and 9.2.5-2 (shown below).
When the Auto checkbox is selected (enabled), the Sequence Cyclic Shift (mcs) is auto detected during the measurement.

When two or more Format 0 PUCCHs have overlapping resources, only the last PUCCH (with biggest index) in the Frame Summary will show an EVM Error vector magnitude (EVM): A quality metric in digital communication systems. See the EVM metric in the Error Summary Table topic in each demodulator for more information on how EVM is calculated for that modulation format. value, and it is the composite EVM of all the overlapping PUCCHs. |

Payload Size (PUCCH Formats 2, 3, and 4 only) - Sets the size of the UCI payload when a PUCCH format that supports more than two bits of payload is selected.

nIDDMRS Zero (PUCCH Formats 2, 3, and 4 only) - Sets the nIDDMRS Zero for the PUCCH transmission.
Default: 0
Inter-slot Frequency Hopping (PUCCH Formats 1, 3, and 4 only) - Enables or disables inter-slot frequency hopping. When inter slot frequency hopping is ON, from the first allocated slot, contiguously counting the index, the slots with an even index have RB starting with RB Offset, and slots with an odd index have RB starting with 2nd Hop RB Offset.
Default: disabled
DMRS-UplinkTransformPrecoding-r16 (PUCCH Formats 3 and 4 only) - Indicates whether dmrsUplinkTransformPrecodingPUCCH-r16 is configured. Per 38211-g10 6.4.1.3.3.1, this value will affect the PUCCH DMRS sequence generation for PUCCH format 3 and 4.

RS Sequence
DMRS Init Option (PUCCH Formats 2, 3 , and 4 only) - Sets how the DMRS sequence generation init value is defined.
Default: NR Standard
Choices: NR Standard, Use Cinit, Custom1, Custom2
DMRS Init (PUCCH Formats 2, 3, and 4 only) - Sets the DMRS init value. This value is only used if DMRS Init Option is set to Use Cinit.
Default: 0
Power Boosting
Power Boosting - Sets the relative power boosting (in dB) for the PUCCH physical channel. This is a power scaling based on the constellation defined in 5.1.3/4/5/6 of 38.211.
Default: 0 dB
DMRS Power Boosting - Sets the relative power boosting (in dB) of the DMRS associated with the PUCCH physical channel. This is a power scaling based on the constellation defined in 5.1.3 of 38.211.
Default: 0 dB
