Active Channel Threshold (TD-SCDMA)

Default: Auto (See TD-SCDMA Standard Setups/Presets Table.)

Active Channel Threshold sets the threshold above which a code channel is detected active and included in the Composite Reference waveform. The active channels can be easily viewed on any of the code domain traces (for example, CDP Composite trace data). In addition, the variance in the code power is used to determine whether a code channel is detected active, however, the variance is not a user controlled parameter. (The Active Channel Threshold parameter affects nearly all Composite error measurements.)

The units are dBc deciBels referenced to the carrier: A technique for expressing a power measurement in logarithmic form using the carrier power as a reference. (dB below the total power within the Analysis Timeslot).

When Auto is selected, an internal algorithm determines active channels. This algorithm makes allowances for the layer on which a channel is found.

When Manual is selected, the VSA uses the Active Channel Threshold value to determine which channels are considered active.
