CDP Layer Spread Code Length (W-CDMA(3GPP)/HSPA)

Default: 256 (15 ksym/s) (See W-CDMA(3GPP) StandardSetups/ Presets Table.)

Range:: Downlink: 4 to 512
             Uplink: 2 to 256 (See Chip Rate, Symbol Rate and Spread Code Table.)

CDP Layer Spread Code Length selects the active code domain layer (Spread Code Length) for the code domain power CDP Layer trace data (see Antenna CDP Trace Data). This parameter has no other effect except for the display of the CDP Layer and CDE Layer trace data.

The text box shows both the Spread Code Length and the corresponding symbol rate (shown within the parenthesis).

Selecting a Spread Code Length

The drop-down menu provides a list of available W-CDMA Code Division Multiple Access: One of several digital wireless transmission methods in which signals are encoded using a specific pseudo-random sequence, or code, to define a communication channel. A receiver, knowing the code, can use it to decode the received signal in the presence of other signals in the channel. This is one of several "spread spectrum" techniques, which allows multiple users to share the same radio frequency spectrum by assigning each active user an unique code. CDMA offers improved spectral efficiency over analog transmission in that it allows for greater frequency reuse. Other characteristics of CDMA systems reduce dropped calls, increase battery life and offer more secure transmission. See also IS-95. (3GPP) compliant spread code lengths that you can select from. To set the CDP Layer Spread Code Length, click the text box down arrow and click the desired Spread Code Length.

The Copy Mkr To Despread Channel marker does not automatically enter the CDP Layer Spread Code Length.
