Connecting PLTS to your Test Hardware

PLTS was originally designed to connect to your test hardware using a GPIB cable from the controller PC to the VNA or TDR hardware. This approach is still the primary use case. See the PLTS Installation Guide for connection details.

LAN connectivity is now a popular choice because of the speed and flexibility that is available. Your test hardware no longer is required to be located within GPIB cable distance of the controlling PC. In fact, beginning with PLTS 2011, PLTS can be loaded on, and directly controlled by, a PNA.

The following topics show the connection options that are now available:

    1. Click File, then New.

    2. Click New Measurement, then Next >

    3. The PLTS Wizard Welcome page shows the system and allows you to re-scan for new instruments.
