To view a signal on the oscilloscope

1. Press the [Default Setup] key on the oscilloscope's front panel. A Default Setup configures the instrument in a known startup condition including:
• Edge triggering. To learn more about triggering, see Trigger Setup.
• Displays Channel 1 on the lowest numbered occupied connection for display. All other channel inputs turned off.
2. Connect a signal to a front-panel channel input. In this example, the signal is connected to Channel 1, since Default Setup will automatically select Channel 1. Channel inputs are located on the front-panel of the real-time oscilloscope.
3. Press the oscilloscope's front panel [Auto Scale] key.

The oscilloscope's graphical user interface is known as Infiniium, and it is important to understand the different ways in which the oscilloscope and Infiniium can be used.
