This topic contains the following sections:

How are the Measurements in the Reverse Traffic Channel Measurement Suite Made?

Refer to the individual measurement descriptions for more details on how the measurements contained in the RTCH measurement suite are made. The following measurements are included in the RTCH measurement suite:

The measurement period used for these measurements is 1 power control group (1.25 ms) for a cdma2000 RTCH Channel Power measurement, and 1 slot (1.667 ms) for a 1xEV-DO RTCH Channel Power Power measurement.

Reverse Traffic Channel Measurement Suite Measurement Parameters

Multi-measurement Count

This parameter sets the multi-measurement count for the RTCH measurement suite. This value specifies the number of measurements the test set performs and uses to calculate the average result and other statistical results of the measurement set such as Minimum, Maximum and standard deviation. See Statistical Measurement Results.

SCPI command: SETup:CRTChannel:COUNt[:SNUMber][?]

Trigger Arm

This parameter sets the trigger state to single trigger mode or continuous trigger mode for the RTCH measurement suite.

SCPI command: SETup:CRTChannel:CONTinuous[?]

Trigger Source

This parameter sets the trigger source for the RTCH measurement suite.

SCPI command: SETup:CRTChannel:TRIGger:SOURce[?]

Measurement Timeout

This parameter sets the timeout value in seconds for the RTCH measurement suite.

SCPI command: SETup:CRTChannel:TIMeout[:STIMe][?]

Occupied Bandwidth Setup

Percent of Total Integrated Power

This parameter sets the percentage of total integrated power that must be in the Occupied Bandwidth (OBW) Limit of the transmitted spectrum, centered on an assigned channel frequency, that is required for the Occupied Bandwidth measurement to Pass.

SCPI command: SETup:CRTChannel:OBWidth:PERcent:TOTal:POWer[?]

Normalize to Expected Frequency

This parameter sets whether the Upper Band Frequency, Lower Band Frequency, and Center Frequency results are returned as absolute RF Frequencies or relative to the Expected Frequency. When this parameter is enabled, relative values are returned. When this parameter is disabled, absolute frequency values are returned.

SCPI command: SETup:CRTChannel:OBWidth:NORMalize[?]

Reverse Traffic Channel Measurement Suite Results Configuration

The parameters on the Results Configuration tab allow you to configure the following attributes of the RTCH measurement suite on the test set's front panel:

Reverse Traffic Channel Measurement Suite Measurement Limits

Occupied Bandwidth Limits

Limit

This parameter sets the limit at which the measurement will fail if the average Occupied Bandwidth (OBW) result is above this limit.

SCPI command: SETup:CRTChannel:OBWidth:LIMit[?]

TX Spurious Emissions Limits

Limit Mode

This parameter sets whether the test set automatically determines which limits to use, or applies the user defined values. When set to ON, the user specified limits are used. When set to OFF, the test set uses preset limits defined in the standard that are specific to the selected frequency band.

SCPI command: SETup:CRTChannel:TXSPurious:MASK:AUTO[?]

Adjacent Offset

This parameter sets the user defined mask limits of the lower and upper Adjacent Offsets. Figure 1 in the TX Spurious Emissions measurement description shows that these two offsets, as well as the Alternate Offsets, start at the edge of the 30 kHz measurement filter used to make the measurement at these offsets. The setting for this parameter is only applied when the Limit Configuration parameter is set to Off.

SCPI command: SETup:CRTChannel:TXSPurious:MASK:MANual[?]

Alternate Offset

This parameter sets the user defined mask limits of the lower and upper Alternate Offsets. Figure 1 in the TX Spurious Emissions measurement description shows that these two offsets, as well as the Adjacent Offsets, start at the edge of the 30 kHz measurement filter used to make the measurement at these offsets. This parameter is only applied only applied when the Limit Configuration parameter is set to Off.

SCPI command: SETup:CRTChannel:TXSPurious:MASK:MANual[?]

Reverse Traffic Channel Measurement Suite Results

Refer to the following individual measurement result descriptions for details on what each measurement in the RTCH measurement suite returns:

Reverse Traffic Channel Input Signal Requirements

The RTCH measurement suite will complete and meet its measurement accuracy specifications when the measured signal is within ±9 dB of the expected input level with ≤ 7.5 dB crest factor, and when the signal meets the following input signal conditions:

Trigger Source

Triggering choices available for the RTCH measurement suite are RF Generator ARB, Immediate, and External.
