Preparing for the Tutorial

  1. Install the N7602B software. See Installing Signal Studio Software.

  2. Obtain and install the appropriate license on your instrument. See Getting a License.

  3. Run the N7602B software and connect to the instrument using LAN or GPIB. See Equipment Setup and Connection.

  4. Ensure that the software is set to its initial state. Press the New icon or select New from the File menu.

  5. Obtain an Keysight 4406A vector signal analyzer.

  6. Obtain Keysight Literature number 5988-2389EN.

Using a Signal Studio Configuration File

The waveforms needed for this tutorial can be created as described in the following topics or by using the PSA_demo_GSM.scp and PSA_demo_EDGE.scp files provided. To use the files, click File > Open (or click the Open Settings File icon ) and navigate to Samples > Setups. Select the desired file and click Open. The GSM configuration contains four different waveforms. After you generate and download these waveforms, you can select them individually using the instrument front panel or the Signal Studio software.

Front panel

  1. Press Local > Mode > Dual Arb > Select Waveform.

  2. Use the arrow keys or the knob to select the desired waveform.

Signal Studio

Click Timeslot in the tree view to display the basic characteristics of each waveform. Delete all of the waveforms except the one you want to use, then download the waveform to the instrument.
