This setting controls the E-DCH Cell Indicator in SIB5/SIB5bis. The intent of this parameter in SIB5/SIB5bis is to allow UEs to display a visual cue that HSUPA functionality is available in the current cell. According to 3GPP TS 25.331 s10.2.48.8.8, this indicator will not be used by the UE for any purposes other than for "display indication". Although release 6 added this indication to SIB5/SIB5bis as a mandatory parameter, it will only be comprehended by release 6 UEs (it will be in an opaque part of SIB5/SIB5bis to other UEs).
GPIB command: CALL[:CELL]:EDCHannel:CINDicator
This setting can only be changed when call status is
Idle
. If
BCCH Update Page
is set to
Auto
and you change this setting while your UE is camped to the test set, the test set performs a
Broadcast Channel (BCCH) Update Procedure (SIB Contents)
. If
BCCH Update Page
is set to
Inhibit
(the default value) and you change this setting while your UE is camped to the test set, you must force your UE to re-read the BCCH to observe the change (see
BCCH Update Page
for more details).
