Enhanced Jitter Analysis Feature

The Enhanced Jitter Analysis feature activates Jitter Mode to provide jitter analysis tools. Once installed, press the Jitter Mode button to start Jitter mode. Results are provided in both tables and graphs. Jitter Mode is extended into the amplitude domain by the Advanced Amplitude Analysis/RIN/Q-factor feature.

Jitter Analysis provides measurements such as:

  • Total Jitter (TJ)
  • Deterministic Jitter (DJ)
  • Data-Dependent Jitter (DDJ)
  • Random Jitter (RJ)
  • Periodic Jitter (PJ)
  • Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI)
  • Duty-Cycle Distortion (DCD)
  • Additional graphs of BER Bathtub and Aliased Jitter Spectrum

On the N1000A, this feature requires hardware option PLK (Pattern Lock Trigger).
On the 86100D, this feature requires hardware option ETR (Enhanced Trigger).
