Operating Modes

FlexDCA can operate in one of four modes: Eye/Mask, Jitter, Oscilloscope, or TDR/TDT. Use the mode-select button shown in the following picture to change instrument modes.

Eye/Mask Mode: Use for eye diagram analysis and standards testing (for example, SONET/SDH, Gigabit Ethernet, and Fiber Channel).

Oscilloscope mode: Use for single-valued waveforms.

Jitter Mode: Requires the pattern lock opton (N1000A-PLK), and the Research and Developement package license must be installed.

TDR/TDT mode: Provides time-domain reflectometry and time-domain transmission measurements. An N1055A TDR/TDT module or a legacy 54754A TDR/TDT module. A Signal Integrity package license is also required for TDR mode.
