Error Terms Adjustment

This test applies to the following models:

 
  • N9912A, N9923A: The ECal version of this adjustment may be used. Refer to the ECal Error Terms Adjustment in the Utilities section.
  • N9912A, N991xA/2xA/5xA : Adjust both ports.
  • N9923A, N993xA/6xA: Adjust Port 1.
  • N9938A: Also requires Option 100 (3.5 mm connectors). Adjustment will abort if Option 100 is missing.
  • If the Max Power and IF Overload adjustment and/or the Source Power adjustment are performed, the Error Terms adjustment must then be performed.
  • All adjustments will require the CFG Option. Refer to the CFG Option section for more information.

This adjustment refreshes the default calibration used for the CAT/NA CalReady function (preset condition for the N9912A; Cal OFF is displayed).

The effects of the Error Terms adjustment are isolated to the results of the Error Terms Verification Utulity. The Error Terms adjustment does not affect the results of any other tests or adjustments.

Before performing this adjustment, it is recommended that the FieldFox port connectors be cleaned. Connection of the calibration standards should be done carefully using a torque wrench. Refer to the appropriate calibration kit user's guide for more information.

The H01/H03 calibration kits are characterized device (CD) kits with unique, precision characterization data for each short, open, and load.
