UL-MAP Info (802.16 OFDMA)
The UL Up Link (reverse link: from cell phone to base station)-MAP messages of the downlink subframe when an UL-MAP exists. When is not selected in the current configuration, a “NO DATA” message will show, and the results will be filled with "***" asterisks.
trace shows the data results of the feature. The trace is a summary table of the decodedThe
parameter must be selected to view the trace data results. The
trace provides the the following data results: decoded UL-MAP data region, UL-MAP Status, and UL-MAP IE decoded data results.Decoded UL-MAP parameters:
- ULMAPType: Normal or FFT128.
- ULSubframe: Length of uplink subframe, in symbols.
- UCDCount: UCD uplink channel descriptor: A medium access control message that describes the PHY characteristics of an uplink. counter index to apply when using this ULMAP.
- UIStart: PS physical slot: A unit of time, dependent on the PHY specification, for allocating bandwidth. 802.11: Power save (mode) units subframe start time relative to frame start, indicated in seconds and
- NumIEs: The total number of IEs (Information Elements) counted in the decoded ULMAP
Status: T for the UL-MAP Status indicator results
- DECODED: The UL-MAP messages are correctly decoded,..
- DLMAP_FAIL: The DL-MAP downlink map: A MAC message that defines burst start time for both time division multiplex and time division multiple access (TDMA) by a subscriber station (SS) on the downlink. could not be decoded.
- CRC Cyclic Redundancy Check_FAIL: The UL-MAP CRC detected as invalid, and further UL-MAP parsing was aborted.
- PARSE_FAIL: Either the ULMAP PDU (protocol data unit) The data unit exchanged between peer entities of the same protocol layer. On the downward direction, it is the data unit generated for the next lower layer. On the upward direction, it is the data unit received from the previous lower layer. did not have enough bits to compute the CRC, or the UL-MAP CRC was validated, but the decoder could not parse the entire UL-MAP message. This may be due to UL-MAP features of the DUT Device under Test: An acronym used to describe some type of electrical apparatus connected to test instrumentation. The apparatus can range from a single component to a complex subsystem such as a mobile phone, base station or MSC. that are not implemented in the analyzer, or due to invalid implementation of the UL-MAP message by the DUT.
Decoded ULMAP IEs list:
Decoded ULMAP IEs (Information Elements) list includes a one-line text summary of each encountered IE. The following IE types will be interpreted, other IE types present a textual summary of the basic IE parameters and the first few bytes of the message.
- FFB: FAST-FEEDBACK Allocation IE (UIUC uplink interval usage code: An interval usage code specific to an uplink.=0)
- DGBT (Data Grant Burst Type): (UIUC=1…10)
- RNG (CDMA Code Division Multiple Access: One of several digital wireless transmission methods in which signals are encoded using a specific pseudo-random sequence, or code, to define a communication channel. A receiver, knowing the code, can use it to decode the received signal in the presence of other signals in the channel. This is one of several "spread spectrum" techniques, which allows multiple users to share the same radio frequency spectrum by assigning each active user an unique code. CDMA offers improved spectral efficiency over analog transmission in that it allows for greater frequency reuse. Other characteristics of CDMA systems reduce dropped calls, increase battery life and offer more secure transmission. See also IS-95.): BW Request/Ranging IE (UIUC=12)
- PAPR peak to average power ratio: Peak-to-average power ratio is the ratio of the peak envelope power to the average envelope power of a signal during a given period of time. reduction/Safety/Sounding IE: (UIUC=13)
- CDMA Allocation IE: (UIUC=14)
- UL Zone IE:
- UL Allocation Start IE
