Preset To Standard  (Custom OFDM)

Preset To Standard is used to configure the VSA to measure an IEEE Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. A US-based membership organisation that includes engineers, scientists, and students in electronics and related fields. The IEEE developed the 802 series wired and wireless LAN standards. Visit the IEEE at http://www.ieee.org standard defined OFDM Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing: OFDM employs multiple overlapping radio frequency carriers, each operating at a carefully chosen frequency that is Orthogonal to the others, to produce a transmission scheme that supports higher bit rates due to parallel channel operation. OFDM is an alternative tranmission scheme to DSSS and FHSS. signal. When a standard preset is Selected, the VSA automatically configures the OFDM demodulator to the parameters shown in the following table:

Available OFDM Standard Presets

WLAN (802.11a)

VSA configured to measure a standard IEEE 802.11a compliant signal.

WLAN (802.11ah)

VSA configured to measure standard IEEE 802.11ah compliant signals: 1 MHz Megahertz: A unit of frequency equal to one million hertz or cycles per second., 2 MHz, 4 MHz, 8 MHz, and 16 MHz.

DAB

VSA configured to measure standard Digital Audio Broadcasting signals: Mode I, Mode II, Mode III, and Mode IV Initialization vector.

DVB-T/H

VSA configured to measure standard Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial/Handheld signals: 2K 1/8, 4K 1/8, and 8K 1/8.

DVB-SH

VSA configured to measure standard Digital Video Broadcasting - Satellite services to Handheld signal: 1k mode.

ISDB-T VSA configured to measure a standard Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting - Terrestrial signal: Mode3, 1+12.

The Custom OFDM demodulator must be selected before these standard presets are available.

OFDM Standard Preset Configuration: WLAN WLAN - Wireless Local Area Network: A system that includes the distribution system (DS), access points (APs), and portal entities. It is also the logical location of distribution and integration service functions of an extended service set (ESS). A WLAN system contains one or more APs and zero or more portals in addition to the DS. (802.11a)

Resource Repeat Index The resource map for most OFDM signals will consist of one or more preamble symbols, sometimes followed by specialized header symbols, followed by a repeating pattern of similarly-formatted symbols. For these repeating symbols, it is only necessary to define the pattern once; the Resource Repeat Index tells the analyzer how to loop when the end of the Resource Map file is reached.
