Region Synchronization
Menu Path:
Specifies the FMCW region synchronization method used for achieving reference time alignment to each of the individual Linear FM Frequency Modulation (LFM) modulation regions contained within the measured signal.
Valid selections are:
- Automatic (Default setting)
- FMCW region time synchronization is based on automatic detection of valid Linear FM regions within the measured FM Slope (Hz/us) modulation trace results, observed over the duration of the Acquisition Length measurement time interval up to the Maximum Region Count value. Identification of valid LFM modulation regions to include within the FMCW radar analysis results are determined from the associated Auto Detect Setup parameter configuration settings.
- Sync to Manual Reference
- FMCW region time synchronization is based on a time correlation to repeating occurrences of the user specified ideal reference signal. Selecting Sync to Manual Reference displays the Manual Reference Description parameters. Use these parameters to describe your ideal reference signal as a group of LFM regions. The pattern you define is assumed to repeat over the duration of the Acquisition Length measurement time interval up to the Maximum Region Count value (both of these parameters can be specified under the Time tab).
- Triggered
- FMCW region time synchronization is based on the Input Trigger selected with the 89600 VSA Software's Input Trigger parameters Manual Reference Description first occurrence within the measured signal. The associated Manual Reference Description parameters are used to describe the ideal reference signal as a group of LFM regions. This pattern is assumed to repeat over the duration of the user specified Acquisition Length measurement time interval up to the Maximum Region Count value (both of these parameters can be specified under the Time tab). Using the Triggered synchronization mode, LFM performance measurements can be made over precise repeating time intervals relative to the user specified trigger event. ). The Input Trigger event is used to align the time start of the
