Auto-detect Power Levels (LTE)

Downlink

When Auto-detect Power Levels is selected, the LTE Long Term Evolution demodulator will detect the relative PDSCH Physical Downlink Shared Channel power level for each user allocation (PA).

When Auto-detect Power Levels is selected and RB Auto Detect Mode is set to Decode PDCCH, the Edit User Mapping... button on the Profile tab is disabled since the demodulator will completely autodetect PDSCH.

For downlink signals, auto detection supports only PDSCH allocations transmitted on C-RS Cell-specific RS antenna ports.

The Round to Standard Value parameter determines whether the measured power levels are rounded to one of the standard power levels.

When Auto-detect Power Levels is cleared, the codeword power levels for each user allocation need to be specified in the LTE Allocation Editor for EVM Error vector magnitude (EVM): A quality metric in digital communication systems. See the EVM metric in the Error Summary Table topic in each demodulator for more information on how EVM is calculated for that modulation format. calculations to be correct. For Decode PDCCH mode, the Expected Num. of Users parameter determines the number of users that appear in the LTE Allocation Editor for which the power levels can be defined.

The auto-detected power levels can be viewed on the DL Decode Info trace in the P_A(n) data result.

Uplink

When Auto-detect Power Levels is selected, the LTE demodulator will detect the relative uplink channel power levels for PUCCH Physical Uplink Control Channel, PUSCH Physical Uplink Shared Channel, SRS Signaling Reference Signal, and PRACH Physical Random Access Channel.

When Auto-detect Power Levels is cleared, the power levels for uplink channels will need to be specified on the corresponding tabs in the LTE Allocation Editor.
