Post-Symbol Time (MB-OFDM)

Menu Path: MeasSetup > MB-OFDM Demod Properties > Packet tab

Default: 0.194 (See MB-OFDM Standard Setups/Presets Table.)

Range: 0 to 0.224

Post-Symbol Timedefines the end of the time gate for each symbol in a particular band, relative to the end of the 128 IFFT Inverse Fast Fourier Transform samples of that symbol, that is, that time just before the beginning of the zero-padded suffix.

The default value of 0.194 symbol-time (32 IFFT samples at a rate of 528MHz) is the standard for the Spectral Mask and Adjacent Channel Power Ratio (ACPR Adjacent Channel Power Ratio - A measurement of the amount of interference, or power, in the adjacent frequency channel. ACPR is usually defined as the ratio of the average power in the adjacent frequency channel (or offset) to the average power in the transmitted frequency channel. ACPR is a critical measurement for CDMA transmitters and their components. It describes the amount of distortion generated due to nonlinearities in RF components. The ACPR measurement is not part of the cdmaOne standard.) tests. This setting applies to all the Band packet traces: Low | Mid | High Band Packet Time and Low | Mid | High Band Packet Spectrum, as well as the composite traces: Packet Time and Packet Spectrum.

See Symbol Gate Length for an alternate entry for test specifications where the starting point varies while the Symbol Gate Length remains constant.
